While some are used by God to pray and give to missions, there are others whom God calls to go beyond their “Jerusalem” to other parts of their home country or to foreign countries.
This “going” to an unfamiliar environment is a special time that God can use to mold and shape a person to see what God can do with a heart yielded to Him. During these times we have seen many Christians grow to trust God more in their lives.

There are various types of opportunities to serve as either health care professionals or in clinic and evangelism support:
- Short-term field teams – A short-term (1-3 weeks) field team trip is a first exposure to GDMMissions and the Benin Clinic Project. This is a way for a Christian to learn firsthand how dental and/or medical clinics are used to present the Gospel. Health care professionals with busy schedules find this a good way to first experience medical missions.
- Associate Missionaries – Health care professionals who hold full-time employment and are led by God to use their special talents and skills on a regular basis to take the Gospel to other lands may apply for Associate Missionary status. All Associate Missionaries agree to participate in at least one short-term field team trip per year.
- Full-time Missionaries – The Benin Clinic presents opportunities for trained health care professionals to serve as full-time dental and medical missionaries. Qualified individuals would be selected to join GDMMissions as candidates to raise support from local churches. Selected individuals who are not trained health care professionals may participate as full-time missionaries in other ways including full-time field team leaders, evangelism and discipleship leaders as part of an existing clinic or establishing new medical clinics in other foreign fields.
